At least two Saudi soldiers have been killed in the latest fighting, and the conflict is further raising tensions in the region, with Iran warning Saudi Arabia not to interfere in Yemen’s internal affairs. Ali Larijani, the speaker of the Iranian parliament, said on Sunday: “The intervention of Saudi government in Yemen and repeated bombardment of unprotected Yemeni Muslims by Tornado and F-15 fighters is astounding. “How has his Excellency, the servant of the two honourable shrines, allowed Muslims’ blood be split in Yemen by means of its military devices? The news proves that the US government has been the accomplice and assistance in such suppressive measures.” The Iranian parliament also called on the Organisation of the Islamic Conference to intervene to stop the killing of Yemeni Muslims. Hashem Ahelbarra reports from Sana’a, the Yemeni capital, where he’s been gauging the fallout from this ongoing battle.

At the same time, Australian police and tracksuit-clad Chinese torch escorts tussled over their positions in the relay in a physical manifestation of a long running verbal dispute over who was in charge of security. On several occasions, Australian police pulled one of the Chinese escorts back from alongside the runner carrying the torch, until they appeared to reach a compromise as the relay continued on its 16-kilometre (10-mile) route. On Wednesday, Chinese and Australian officials openly disagreed at a press conference about the role of the Chinese attendants, who were described by top British Olympic official Sebastian Coe as “thugs”. At least four people were arrested before the relay began, police said, while witnesses reported at least three more were pounced on by security as they tried to block the torch’s progress along the route. “Three men were detained and one woman was released after a disturbance” ahead of the start, police told The Australian Online. “They have been charged with interfering with the event. What the capital seekers say to our investors may make or break their funding. I think the easiest way to understand of what to tell these people is really what not to tell them. And over 30 years of hearing these phrases or some semblance of them have driven me and capital providers to see caution flags that instantly appear. Keep these phrases out of the conversation. Don’t tell me our projections are conservative. Entrepreneur projections are never conservative. If they were, they’d be zero. Or, “the market will be $50-billion in 2010.” The magnitude is just not logical in this economic environment. Here’s another nugget we hear. “HugeCo is going to sign our purchase order next week.” This line is trying to show the capital provider there is some attraction beneath their heel. That’s a favorite turn-off. “Key employees are set to join us as soon as we get funded.” Well, my question is, why would an executive leave a $250000 a year job to join a start up? That’s not going to happen in this economy. Here’s another one to close the door behind you quickly. “No one else is doing what we’re doing.” Either there isn’t a market or you’re
